I really enjoyed staying here. It's just steps away from the main drag, but very quiet. I loved the sound of the horse carriages coming down the street at night. The gardens are really beautiful and well maintained. The people who run the place are lovely people. The continental breakfast has so many tasty choices, and the service is great. I have stayed here twice and have no reason to look anywhere else on the island to stay.

What a lovely, lovely, lovely place. I felt lucky to be staying there. The service was top notch. The rooms were simply delightful with super comfy beds. They have the most yummy continental breakfast I've ever had. The gardens are the best on the island. It's just behind the main drag, so it's a little more peaceful but you still get horse drawn carts going past all the time. I really don't know what else to say. It is just such a wonderful place. I will certainly be staying there again.

My boyfriend and I enjoyed our stay in mid-September. Like other Yelpers we found the Metivier Inn to provide a comfortable room, a delightful breakfast, generous afternoon snacks and beautifully relaxing gardens. The reason for the 4 rating was relatively low water pressure on the third floor. We were grateful to visit on a cool and pleasant weekend as we ventured to guess that this third floor room might be somewhat uncomfortable during a peak summer stay. The room rates were quite reasonable, the location was convenient to the ferries but at the same time off of the main drag - great location. The wi-fi service was very slow but the bed was very comfortable. We would stay there again on any subsequent return visits.

We happened on this Inn last year, when the place we usually visit had no vacancy. We were so anxious to go to the island that we took a chance and booked the Metivier. We were delighted! It was immaculate, well appointed, and so peaceful. The breakfast was great both mornings. The couple who manages it are so kind! We loved it so much that we decided to return this year for three nights. We were not disappointed this year. We highly recommend The Metivier Inn!

This was our second stay at the Metevier and we WILL be back. The rooms are spotless, the beds are very comfy and the gardens are gorgeous. Market Street is the ideal location - off the busy main track. Dave and Blanca who run the inn are the nicest people and treat you like family. Great for a families as well as adults only.

We stayed at the inn for two nights and would highly recommend it. The room was spotless and the breakfasts were delicious with eggs and biscuits and gravy as the main course and cheesy potatoes on the second day. The granola was heavenly! It was a little more costly then I expected but truly a pleasant experience that I hope to enjoy in the future.

If you're looking for a place to stay on Mackinac that provides you a view of beautiful gardens, the clip clop sound of the horses, clean beautifully decorated rooms and a very friendly staff than look no further Metivier Inn is the place you should stay. Did I mention the amazing gardens? Spend time walking around the back of the hotel so you don't miss every single beautiful garden one of the owners herself works on with her own two hands. The breakfast is also very tastey. Most B&B only offer cereal, toast and yogurt. At the Metivier they served us a full breakfast every day and it kept us full past lunch.

This was our third time staying at the Metivier Inn which, as other Yelp'ers have noted, is a delightful little B&B with charming accents and a terrific location tucked a stone's throw away from all the action on Main Street. So why am I giving it ONE star this time -- effectively suggesting you stay away? Easy -- the manager/owner needs to keep her mouth closed about politics and religion. No need to take you through all the details, but according to her very public display on the Inn's porch this past Wednesday, I'm not only a fool for my particular political leanings -- but according to our Innkeeper, I will be going to Hell for not subscribing to her brand of religious affiliation as well. She went on to describe in mind-numbing detail how other religious/racial minorities deserve to be "profiled," and unapologetically ranted how our "Muslim" President is destroying our Country. Mackinac Island is a place to recharge one's mind and spirit. I go there to relax. I'm not interested in the closed-minded ravings of a bible-thumping Innkeeper to keep me company while I try to enjoy cookies and lemonade on their porch. No thank you. I can be on my way to Hell staying somewhere else.
